Dr. Weiner is in the process of publishing an American College of Rheumatology Rheum2Learn Musculoskeletal Physical Examination Module. The module is in final peer review and transitioning into beta testing. It will likely be released later this year or early 2025. The ACR is updating the entire Rheum2Learn educational series, which is a fundamental curriculum designed primarily for residents but available to all learners, including primary care.

Dr. Weiner has been on the Rheumatology Item-Writing Task Force for four years. When asked what his favorite part of being on the Item-Writing Task Force is, he stated, “I learn something every time I approach a new item creation, and it provides me with a different way of continued learning in the field of rheumatology. Additionally, it has provided me with the opportunity to complete a practicum as part of my MHPE program at the Uniformed Services University.” When asked if he has any advice for new writers, he stated, “The quarterly meetings are extremely valuable, as you get the opportunity to collaborate on items you may be struggling with and improve overall for the benefit of future test takers.”

During the pandemic, Dr. Weiner learned how to sail by taking the ASA 101 and 103 courses. He mostly sails around the San Diego Bay. He enjoys other outdoor activities such as golf, running and hiking. Additionally, he is a novice beer brewer. He recently became a father of two boys, Maddox and Hunter. In his spare time, Dr. Weiner enjoys spending time with his family and spouse, Berkley. He currently resides with his family in San Diego.
