Corina Serer, MD, AGAF | Gastroenterology Item-Writing Task Force
Born in Romania, Dr. Serer attended medical school at Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie „Carol Davila” in Bucharest before training in internal medicine and gastroenterology at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. After completing her fellowship in 2023, she started working at a gastroenterology practice where she is still employed and enjoys taking care of entire families over several generations.
Dr. Serer has been on the Gastroenterology Item-Writing Task Force for two years. When asked what her favorite part of being an Item-Writer is, she says, “The intellectual challenges and the opportunity to interact with colleagues from all over the country. I enjoy bringing my clinical experience and perspective as a community-based physician to our discussions. I greatly appreciate the collegial spirit and collaborative approach.” Her advice to new Item-Writers is to “rely on your clinical experience, thoroughly research the topic and be open for constructive criticism.”
In her free time, Dr. Serer loves to read historical fiction, hike and travel. When traveling is not possible, she likes to research and plan further trips.
