Keeping You Informed About MOC Requirements and Options

December 1, 2015  |  Posted by Richard J. Baron, MD, President and CEO, ABIM  |  Opportunities and Ideas for MOC

With all the changes made to the program this past year, we have heard from some of you asking if we still have a Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program in place. The answer is yes and, given the changes that have happened this year, we want to help you navigate the specific steps you may need to take if you want to continue to be recognized for your commitment to stay current in medical knowledge and practice by being reported as “Participating in MOC”.

As part of our regular communication, we have reached out individually to those who still have outstanding requirements due by 12/31/15 related to participating in the MOC program.

If you haven’t heard from us but still want to check if you have any approaching activity and enrollment deadlines, you can log in to view your MOC Status Report, and, if you have questions about your status, contact us at request@abim.org.

I also welcome you to e-mail us with your thoughts and ideas on improving MOC: Your input will ensure that our credential remains relevant to your daily practice, meaningful to your peers and patients and a source of personal pride.
